Takoda began practicing hatha yoga at the age of 12. Through it she was gifted with indispensable tools that helped guide her through her adolescence and teenage years. Because she experienced the benefits first hand, she feels it is important for kids to have the opportunity to practice yoga from a young age. Takoda’s style differs from most in that the entire class is not fun and games. She encourages them to practice a portion of the class in silence by following her lead. She feels that it is important for the children to learn to quiet themselves, go within and develop their focus, giving them the ability to take these lessons out of the class and into the world.
She completed Pamela Hollanders Indigo Yoga for Children Training in October 2009 and is so excited to share this beautiful practice with the children of the area
